All of these clips were recorded with the master set fairly low. The exceptions were the "clean" clips, where I had to turn it up to get the headroom. Unless noted otherwise, a mid-seventies Marshall 4-12 cab was used, utilizing Celestion Greenbacks.

Bray “45/50” custom-built Plexi head with the Mod 1 Plus, using Single Coils. This clip is all done with my '63 Strat clone using a vintage output Curtis Novak STR-V Strat set. The first two sections are with the amp in Mod I mode, the third section is with the amp in Mod I Plus mode. Additional options include Channel 1 Bright Switch, Vintage/Hot Switch, Harmonic Switch, and High Cut Control.

Bray "50" custom built Plexi head, designed especially for the famous "Brown" tone. Guitar used is a Strat copy w/ Duncan '78 in the bridge. Some parts include the MXR Phase 90, MXR Flanger, and Maestro Echoplex, all of which were placed between the guitar and amp. Some reverb was added after recording to the right side only.

The first parts are a Les Paul and the last is a strat w/ a Duncan '78 in the bridge.





Marshall JTM45 with a Plexi 50-watt output transformer, EH EL34s, and it's own specialized Mod I/Rework. Can be thought of as a 1987x Plexi with a tube rectifier and lower B+ voltage. First part is a Les Paul, second part is a strat with a Duncan '78.

Marshall 1987x plexi reissue modded to sound similar to this Betts Toler Video in cleaner settings, and thick Mod I in hotter settings. Guitars are a Les Paul for the first part, and a strat with a single coil in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge for the rest.




Marshall 1987x modded for Studio 58A in Italy. Using only two push/pull switches, this amp was modded to have classic Marshall tones, as well as Mod/Rework I tones. The first part of the clip uses a Les Paul w/ PRS 8s for the more classic sounds, the second half uses a Strat w/ a Duncan '78 in the bridge for the Mod/Rework I tones.

Clark Beaufort 1-12 combo...remake of the famous Fender 5E3 tweed Deluxe. Client wanted more gain and tightness, yet still wanted to keep the "tweed vibe" happening.
